Leon C 1 Posted May 12, 2006 I been having a bit of trouble with the electric windows for a while now: They go down easy enough but take some frantic door banging and switch pressing to get em to wind back up again, and now the passenger side is also started doing it! I know its more than likely the motors, so I was thinking about ditching them and putting manual ones on instead! Anyone else gone back to manual?
DaveK 0 Posted May 12, 2006 you sure its just not a dodgey switch dude? although im very interested in going to manual windows aswel
Leon C 1 Posted May 12, 2006 I dunno, I swopped the all switches around and there still the same! Surely all three switches cant be knackered!? Gonna test the relay.
hengti 2 Posted May 12, 2006 mine's doing this as well i guess it's possible to convert to manual windows, but i'd have thought there's every chance the channel that the glass is bonded to is different (ie. you might need new glass too) - as i assume there'll be a different winding mechanism prepared to be shot down '205gtidrivers stylee' if this isn't the case though i'm just going to replace the motor on mine ... eventually
Phil H 16 Posted May 12, 2006 straight swap...basically the motor is attached to a manual arm (ish). Tried siliconing sparaying down the side channels and greasing the pivot points?
