Guest ashnicholls Posted May 11, 2006 I have got 1.6 with big valve head, and 4 branch manifold, all lightened and balance botom end. Was just wondering: What fuel pump would i need, and would it need a regulator. What spark plugs and leads would people recommend, and which uprated ignition coil would people recommend getting. Cheers Ash
Craigb 2 Posted May 11, 2006 I used a Facet red top and then an inline filter King when i had 40's on my escort 1600 Fail to see why that set up wouldn't work on yours
Guest ashnicholls Posted May 11, 2006 what pressure was that regulated at?
saml666 0 Posted May 11, 2006 If you fit a regulator, is there any reason why can't you use the std injection pump? (dumb question probably, just I'm about to fit twin carbs on my Mi16) Cheers, Sam
Craigb 2 Posted May 12, 2006 what pressure was that regulated at? Going back a few years now , but i think it was low at around 4.5 psi .. The limiting factor is the needle in the float chamber , any more and you just lift the needle and fill the carb with fuel .. I'll try and dig out the weber book i have and see what it says
taffycrook 2 Posted May 12, 2006 You can use a pressure reg to drop the pressure down to carb friendly levels using an FPR009 from FSE. Works a treat.

Guest ashnicholls Posted May 12, 2006 (edited) my engine was a carb engine so know injection, only fuel pump running off the cam, which the gti cam doesnt have. Yes it is 4.5 psi. but you can buy a kit to convert injection to carb. http://www.fastroadcars.co.uk/store/view_p...?product=FPR009 looking at this one does it need a regulator, if it only works between 4-4.5 psi? http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/catalog/produ...roducts_id=1693 Edited May 12, 2006 by ashnicholls
