Guest ashnicholls Posted May 11, 2006 still need to source a few bits, because was only given the block, and bought everything else. so need to get all the hoses for the cooling system, because my car is currently a 1.1. But hopefully within the next month or two.
huckleberry 0 Posted May 11, 2006 The engine looks great! Like it just came new out of a box from the Pug factory. But your garage looks like something the local garbagetruck crashed into. LOL
Guest ashnicholls Posted May 11, 2006 yes i know the garage is a right mess, its partly because the engine guards the enterance so everything gets thrown in around it.

Miles 331 1 Cars Posted August 6, 2006 Looking all very nice and shiny, Quick point thou, Those sock filters are power killer's, the one piece XR filter is much much better
Guest ashnicholls Posted August 6, 2006 Are they that bad? How much power we talking? A couple or tens of horses?
boombang 2 Posted August 6, 2006 I don't know figures but seen one sucked inside a carb whilst it was on a rolling road. It certainly killed his power! (well actually being carbs it jsut got stuck on the aux venturi)
Guest ashnicholls Posted August 6, 2006 Bloody hell!!!!!! How can they sell them if they are that restrictive??????? Loads of people use them though???????
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted August 6, 2006 There's allot of stuff sold that is no better than a Chocolate tea pot, And just because lot's of people use them doesn;t mean there any good, A golf we tested lost 10bhp with these fitted, Power on this thou was 210bhp without them
pug309twin40s 1 Posted August 7, 2006 yep ash, those sock filters are crap!! get an itg complete airfilter or similar.
Guest ashnicholls Posted August 7, 2006 Oh so should only lose a couple BHP on my engine then?
dee205 3 Posted August 8, 2006 Oh so should only lose a couple BHP on my engine then? People pay £££ to gain a couple of horses!
Guest ashnicholls Posted August 9, 2006 Yes im not a BHP counted, as longs as it goes, and it will should go alot better than my 1.1 and makes a nice noise im more than happy. This engine has been a pain in the arse. I just want it running now. Cheers
