niklas 1 Posted May 11, 2006 On a local swedish pug-forum there was a discussion regarding if the liners may sink into the block during operation. Can this happen on highly tuned or even standard engines? If so what is the reason? I know here is quite a few people with a great deal of expierence of competing with the MI16 engine and also in highly tuned form. Has this occured to any of you? petert 587 Posted May 12, 2006 (edited) This could only happen if the block was overheated, causing it to loose it's temper and soften. I do have a block that was in a fire. I haven't checked the liner depth but the mains closed up. Edited May 12, 2006 by petert
