Immobiliser And Alarm

Recommended Posts

Grim.Badger

I've got two questions here.

Firstly, according to the receipts that I inherited, I have an Apollo 2002 (Thatcham Cat 2) immobiliser.

Is this model any good? Is there anyway I can check if it is what it says?

Also I was wondering if someone could tell me which alarm systems are any good - cheap but not sh*t and that doesn't go off every 5 seconds :D

Cheers.

Look for one with a transponder - they are a lot less hassle.

Unfortunately the insurers will demand that it's fitted by a "certified agent" - which will mean that you'll be charged £100 for a bodged job - the usual cause of most problems. I've found Clifford to be nothing but a pain in the arse from my experience.

Best just to rig your own immobilier (cut into the ignition system and mount a switch somwhere out of sight), once you got a certificate to give to the insurers.
