Rik 0 Posted May 10, 2006 Waht are they like to drive? Heres my situation, i'm getting tired of not driving a 205 so to get my car on the road soon enough for the summer, i'm gonna give my 1.9 a quick re-build, maybe do some Head mods and stick some superbike throttle bodies on it. My original plan of a 230+bhp Mi is too far away that its never gonna be done by this year! So does anyone know of any fairly standard 1.9's on throttle bodies? I'm going to be using a megasquirt ECU and like i said increase the compression a little, does anyone know what sort of power this is gonna be creating also? Rik 0 Posted May 11, 2006 No one then? I'd also like to ask anyone reading this if they knew what the low down power of a Mi16 on throttle bodies is like? I'm after the 8v low down torque, as i dont like the 'kick in the back at 3000rpm!'
Ahl 4 Posted May 11, 2006 Have you read this topic? You don't need TB's to change the characteristics of the mi16 engine. That 'extra' 8v low down torque doesn't exist anyway. TB's should be all good though!
RHULPUG 0 Posted May 12, 2006 I'm running TB's combined with high lift cams in a 205 with GTi6 head and S16 bottom end, which is similar to an Mi16, and the combination works well. The torque still remains for civilised driving, and the TB's only really start to be used at higher RPM where they open up and make a very loud noise, so not very subtle, but the power delivery is good!
