Retro Fitted Pas To Mi, Now A Problem With Pulley

Recommended Posts

tidypug

I've fitted pas to my mi, i used the pump off a diesel 205 and the pulley of the mi. I didn't notice it when i fitted it but i did when it started to make an odd noise when the engine was running.

The problem is that the pas pulley is out of allignment with the cam pulley, has anyone had this problem? I tried to fit the cam pulley from the diesel engine to the mi as that pulley is 2 pulleys wide, this doesn't fit the mi cam. The pulley is about the width of the belt too far away from the pump.

could you fit some large washers inside the pulley to push it out a bit? obvioulsy not too far so that that the key part will still be able to engage with the pulley

I have the pulley off the diesel so may try to open up that pulley, Huxley what type of drill did you use to open up your pulley?

i've managed to sort this now, i went down to B&Q and bought a length of pipe which was the size of the cam shaft. I cut a bit off that was just the right width and hay presto, pulley problem sorted.
