Lowering Or Highering In This Case A Rear Beam

just bought my car and the back i think is running on the bump stops, want to higher it back up can anyone tell me how this is done?

 

just read all the posted about rear beams and nothing that really helps me in there

 

is it a easy job? im very macanicaly minded so hopeing its something i can do

If you're very mechanically minded then you should have no problem as its not that complicated.

 

You'll find a very good guide written by Wurzel on the main site: www.205gtidrivers.com

The problems your likely to get though will be bits seized up and possibly seals no longer sealing and the internal bearings and shafts corroding.

Saxo's are a nightmare to lower! 205s are much easyer.

ive used a combination of guides from here, the pgac and 306gtiowners forum and ive managed to lower mine ok.

 

ive hada few probs along the way but all seems to be fine now, just got to remove the other torsion bar and realign them and im all done, roll on 3pm when i finish work and can get out in the sun and sort it out!!!!

 

i used the washer, bolt and socket method to withdraw the bar from the housing and found if you hot the relevnat torsion bar with a big hammer at the same time as you applied pressure to the spanner on the nut then the nut turns really easily and the bar pops out in no time at all.
