My mi is in the final stages before going back out on the road but need some advice. i have been reading the post on mi oil surge etc. i need to now whether it is worth while getting a sump baffle for it as it is only used for fast road and the odd track day. your advice would be aprecated.

You really need to read up on the 2 'current' threads to understand the problem properly - baffles don't help oil surge and it has been stated somewhere on here.

The head fills with oil, thats the problem you need to deal with, then think about fitting a baffle when you know there will be oil in the sump -_-

I would still say that its worth baffling the sump!

A very quick short corner can still send the oil away from the pickup - and even the shortest length of time is enough to cause damage, yet a well designed baffle will reduce this significantly.

As said, do a search as this has been covered plenty of times before.

There's certainly no harm in baffling the sump and it will atleast help to keep what oil is in the sump near the oil pickup - however, it's certainly not a cure to the Mi16 oil surge problem as that's a combination of a few different factors (the sump being just one)

Shoddy French design being the other! :D

(which is no worse than shoddy English design, I may add)
