Miles 331 1 Cars Posted May 8, 2006 (edited) You've screwed the ford wheel bolt into the ARB to remove it, the plate on the other end should just pull out, Even if the thread is striped you can get to the other side when removed Just follow the guide on the main site here, It's the same as the 205 Edited May 8, 2006 by Miles
mrswampy 0 Posted May 9, 2006 yes ive done that. but now i cant get the bolt out of the passenger side, when i try and remove it it just turns. so how do i remove it??
mrswampy 0 Posted May 9, 2006 right after ive refitted the anti roll bar and in the process its driven the end plate off the drivers side, ive then persuaded the bolt to come out!! now i have another problem, the bit that you screw on the passnegr side with the screw driver, well its not there just the end of the threaded section i assume this casues a big problem?? mrswampy 0 Posted May 9, 2006 its getting there slowly, ahve used the bolt, socket and nut method to extract the passneger side torsion bar, the bit you need to screw in on the other side became loose and i turned it by hand in the end. but on the drivers side i cant get the eliptical washer out!! any ideas? deejay391 0 Posted May 10, 2006 clean out all the dried rust, mud crap and use a tiny screw driver and clear out around edges then use a hammer and hit the screwdriver and manipulate the washer out.... it is a real pain tho.. good luck
mrswampy 0 Posted May 11, 2006 got both of the torsion bars out, measured up moved etc and reassembled but one of the arms sat much lower thna the other one, is that correct?? ive now altered it so the height from the wheel arch to the lower lip of the hub bearing is the same, hope it sits ok once all back togeather. haveing a right night marte getting the arb back in though, just cant seem to get it to slide in to the splines so that the end plates are in the correct palce, any one got any ideas?? on a side not any one havieng probs getting the bars out, use the big socket, washers and nut method, wind the nut in and get some one to help you, one of you puts pressure on the spanner and the other shocks the torsion bar with a hammer, this method got the bars out on my 94 reg 107k s16 with ease.
