Guest Tidybri Posted May 8, 2006 I have a badly cracked dash on my 1987 d Reg 1.6 gti and want to replace it if i can. My question is simple how do i know which is which and will all different phase dash's fit in any 205? I notice mine is in sections and its only the glove box section i really need but i bet it will be easier getting a full dash than just this 1 piece in grey. A full later dash can be fitted but its a lot of work as the switch wiring is all different. I put a ph2 dash in an 87 'D' plate cti 'cos I couldn't find the replacement ph1 dash parts and it was a PAIN
Guest Tidybri Posted May 8, 2006 Oh thanks steve sounds like i have a phase 1 then!!!! So your not fancying my chances of getting a replacement then? is there an easy fix for this as i just have a big gaping hole where the glove box should be and is a bit unsightly and i am no electrican or mechanic so re wiring is not really an option on my budget. Keep scouring the local scrappies and classified ads in local papers, been 4 ph1 205s in my local scrappy in the last 6 months-all minus glovebox lids. I've had to buy complete cars in the past to get 1 or 2 small parts then break or scrap the rest! this may be 1 of those parts. Lots of luck!
Jez G 6 1 Cars Posted May 8, 2006 It took me ages to find all of the phase 1 bits I needed, including the glove box lid, But I think its worth it in the end, lots of phase 2 cars around, and an orginal phase 1 must be worth a little more in the end. By the way most of the bits came from here or e-bay. Jez
