I'm Getting A Noise From The Front Wheels :(

Recommended Posts

It's a creaking sound when I turn in. Coming from the front right mainly.

The best way I can describe it is when you see a film about pirates or something, and there's an old wooden boat. The creaking noise you can always hear in the background of wood rubbing against wood.

That sort of noise...

Any ideas? B)

Droplinks would generally knock rather than creak, i'd take a look at your top mounts.

mine has started making a squeeking noise whilst driving on front drivers side. This has occured since i had the tracking done 2 days ago, and it increases slightly whilst turning. Moving on the descriptive noises it sounds like birds tweating lol

Top mount bearings perhaps, but that said mine creaks occassionally when lowering the front end off jack back to the ground and all parts of the front suspension are new or almost new.

Whats it like when turning and reversing at the same time?

Well on mine when I reverse its quite, no knocking creaking etc...

It's when you turn the steering wheel at low speeds that you can hear it, its quite then will creak a little.

It's progressed to making the noise whenever you turn the steering wheel. It's coming from the right front at whatever speed...

mine clunks when reversing if you press brake pedal but it did that before it started sqealing, and i checked all the botom arms etc and seems to be ok so i though it might just be brake sliders

Weird, first cold day of the last week or so and the noise is completely gone. My mate reckons it could be the hot weather causing the creaking - anyone know how or why?
