pj838 0 Posted May 7, 2006 A few questions, I know there is another similar thread but I don't wanna hijack it. So, I am replacing my upper steering column (I mean the section from the wheel to the UJ in the footwell). Is it correct that all model 205 will have the same section? I am looking to get a replacement from a scrapyard, but I've just thought- do I need to have the keys of the scrap car to remove its ignition barrel? Don't want to sit there for hours trying to smash the thing out if it's gonna be a pain, or is there a simple way to do it? Once I have the barrel out it looks to be pretty straightforward Any help appreciated! Paul.
M@tt 77 Posted May 7, 2006 all 205 odels should have the same steeringcolumn so you will be fine with regards to the ignition barrel you will need the key to get the barrel out easily. Thing to do is to check with the scrappy whether they've got the key first and if so just borrow it to remove te barrel if not then don't bother removig it cos they surely cant charge you for it as its ueless and they you can remove it at home where you can use more tools and space hth matt
