Electric Windows / Central Locking

Recommended Posts

Guest djuk

After figuring out why I had lost all electric windows and central locking in my G plate 1.9 GTI I have managed to restore some functionality by reconnecting the yellow plug under the steering wheel (see pic below).

However, whilst the drivers side electric window works fine, the passenger side doesnt. Also, I can central lock the car from the drivers side, but not from the passenger side.

Now below the steering wheel there are two very similar looking plugs next to each other - should there be something connected to the other one?

Thanks

David

The passenger window needs the drivers side passenger window switch to not be faulty. Make sense. Swap the switches over. Check wiring etc.

Most 205's central locking is only operated by opening the drivers door.

AFAIK nothing else is connected to that plug on the steering column.

That just looks like an earthing point to me. As Phil says, driver only central locks and EW's operate from the drivers side primarily.

It was indeed the switches, grabbed some new switches from Peugeot at 7 quid each and it works a treat... oh and the switches look shiney and now
