OK what is that off then? Something Ford(!) but what?

I'm not sure. It was on my Autronic equipped 205 when I bought it. Part #84DA-9F715-AA

Loving the rachet strap holding the battery in, no chance of that bugger getting loose! :P

That was made for a 84 model year car, MK2 fiesta or MK3 escort i am guessing. Going to be hard to find them.

I've got a 93 CAt equiped 205 and it has a solenoid for the fuel carbom container. should do the same job and maybe easier to find.

I'll post a photo tomorrow.

Cheers

Not sure if its worth checking but isnt the EGR valve on newer cars just a big solenoid? if it is then it should be just the right size ports for a SAD replacement.

Sorry for the delay guys. yes off a Ford - I forget what model but there were several in the Scrappy's. Valve was on the driver's side of the engine, near the top of the bay. The number in my photos might show up which car!

And yes, I used lots of old hose to get the right diameters!

:D

So guess the main thing to consider when looking for air solenoid valve is hose diameter.

Any 2-way (12v) solenoid valve be it EGR, air horn or air suspension should fit.

Looking for one myself. Gathering parts for Megasquirt conversion.

Let's guesstimate what diameter is good enough to start mi16 engine in let's say -20C :D

Should be something close enough to PWM valve hose diameter.

And by saying PWM (pulse width modulation) valve I mean mi16 ICV (idle control valve) of course.

Sorry. :P

it seems like an ok idea but having to turn off a switch is a bit annoying just so it doesnt idle high..

it makes the 205 sound so old when its using things like bimetallic strips to controle idle..

wouldnt mind getting a walk through of how it could be fixed so that it opens and shuts off automaticly by one of the master minds off here :D
