Xu10j2 To Xu10j2te?

Hello,

 

I have a 306xsi with a xu10j2 engine, and I would like to get the xu10j2te engine in. I was thinking about taking the turbo engine and drive it with the N/A loom. I will use the xu10j2 intake manifol. Could I use the wiring loom from the N/A engine and change the MAP to one that can handle the pressur and get the ecu chip to handle the pressur?

wont work and is not an easy conversion, i am currently doing it on my 306 cabriolet (has xu10j2 standard)and it keeps throwing up little problems, the engine will not bolt directly in you will need to cut the bulkhead just above the steering collumn (rhd model). I will nto be running mine on standerd ecu anyway, have orderd my megasquirt 2 from diyautotune today.

Why do you think it wont work? Mountin the engine is not a problem, and the steering collumn is i the left side (danish car). Are you using the turbo loom for MS? Anyone els?

i honestly don't know, but the 2.0l turbo loom isn't that hard to fit tbh

its not the steering column you cut its the bulkhead just above, this will be the same lhd or rhd, it fouls on the turbo. Its just easier to descirbe as being above the steering column on a rhd car.

thats what you need to cut, after that you need to strengthen it by welding a plate in.

as for the loom it may work but i doubt it and why bother? the xm loom is easy'ish to convert and many people have done it on here so can help you.

Ok, now a get it :blink: Is the bulkhead the same in right/left? What if I buy a DP opgrad exhaust manifold, is´t still a problem? Could i use a 406/xantia loom, or is the Xm/605 loom easyér too fit or no diffent in the loom´s?

should be fine with dp engineering manifold, but you will need to relocate battery with that and get a new turbo

xantia loom is a pain in the ass due to battery+ ecu location, have to lenthen a lot of wires, however i am scrapping my xantia loom since going megasquirt so will be much neater -_-

btw i forgot to mention if using stock manifold you also need to lenthen the bottom mount fork a little, am doing mine tomorrow so will show pics

Is´t the down pipe thats in the way of the battery or what? Do you need to cut the bulkhead wenn using the DP manifol?

With the dp engineering manifold you shuold not need to cut anything in theory,i do not know this for sure (as i have never used one)however. The reason for this is because it moves the turbo to above the gearbox, where the battery is. this is the reason you need to relocate the battery too. the reason you need to cut the bulkhead is that the standard manifold allows the turbo to sit at the back, the turbo then hits the bulkhead so needs this removing, with the turbo above the gearbox i doubt this is a problem

You are thinking about the 16v manifol with? With the 8v DP manifol the turbo is place at top of the valve cover.

When you use the DP 8V manifold no cutting of the bulkhead is required.
