Can Anyone Name Every Oil Seal

Recommended Posts

Grim.Badger

I'm really getting sick of my oil leaks, especially as they have now ruined my clutch. I want to replace all the oil seals on the engine, but don't know where they all are, or what they are called. All I know of so far are the Crank Shaft Seals (Both ends) and the Rocker Cover Seal, but I presume there's loads more.

Can anyone tell me what they all are, and preferably tell me where they are and give part numbers :D:excl:

Cheers

Just order a full engine set of gaskets, that'll work out cheaper & easier (you'll have spares still though).

QEP should be able to supply you with one.

Graham.

Ahl

I call my camshaft oil seal Christina, the cambelt side crank seal is Nigel, the sump gasket is Hesus and the dizzy O-ring is Mandy. B)

B) Do they invite you to their parties and tell you to burn things? :D

Cheers though, I take it the gasket set comes with all the rubber and plastic seals as well.

Thanks

"Huh hu, yeh, cool - lets like ... burn stuff ..."

If you talk to QEP they'll make sure you get everything you need - they did for my Mi rebuild about 2 weeks ago. I can save you a lot of time shopping around for prices, they were by far the best and I mean by far. Hope that "plug" doesn't breach forum rules ;-)

Seriously though, I was very pleased with their help, in answer to your first question its probably them that can name every seal.

Sam

p.s. My Rover V8 oil seal is called Lucan, it split and left a right mess behind it...

...pauses for audience applause...
