Cas Sensors

Recommended Posts

Mad Professor

Hi All.

I have finished work on my mate Mi16 Conversion.

The car did not what to start, No fuel or spark.

I removed the cam sensor from the gearbox, and ran it quickly over metal, and the fuel pump & spark kicked in.

The length of this CAS Sensor is 23mm.

CAS%20Sensor(1).jpg

I know with my megasquirt that the senor is ment to be 0.75mm-1.50mm away from the trigger wheel.

With this sensor and the Mi16 Auto Trigger Wheel The sensor looks to have a gap of aprox 6-7mm, Witch is way to much.

So is there any over CAS sensor's witch are around 30mm in length?

Thanks for your time.

Mine is the same length as Yours! (So Your girlfriend says :excl: .....sorry had to do it) Mine is from a D6C out of a citroen Bx that came equipped with a BE3 Mi16 gearbox. Perhaps the type of gearbox is the problem. Can't You grind down the mounting place of the sensor? Although 6mm is a lot I guess. I have done some searches on CAS sensors, because I wondered if they were interchangeable, but haven't come across any convincing answers yet. Maybe You have the wrong sensor for the gearbox You use. Good Luck.

If I can't find a longer sensor even if thay are real, It looks like I am going to have to attack the Autobox with my belt sander.

Fit a manual gearbox? Auto's use a different flywheel & clutch assembly to the manual gearbox cars & I can't see an auto box coping to well with an Mi driving it. B)
