Ant 2 Posted April 29, 2006 Ive wired up my 2.0 turbo today.. And guess what, it doesnt start I can hear the relay kick in when the ignition is turned, and ive got the lights on the keypad. But ive got both a red and green light. If i try in the code ( or any code ) it beep 4 times at me Tried 1234 also. Connected to the keypad are 820 821 822 Earth Switched live Permanent Live Also connected 76 to the fuel pump on the 2.0 loom Pin 3 which is switched live actually connects to keypad.. Any ideas Cheers
jacobs53 0 Posted April 30, 2006 what about pin 27? When i was testing my keypad on a 12v supply, I had both lights turn on and after a few try's it would beep and lock up. If i was you just try a external 12v supply to pin 27, and then try re-starting lee
Alex G 0 Posted April 30, 2006 (edited) IIRC the engine should turn over at least even if the keypad is wired in wrong. mine used to start with both lights on Check your wiring to the starter motor solenoid and starter Edited April 30, 2006 by Alex G
sonofsam 5 Posted April 30, 2006 yes check your wiring Ant,somethings not right there. Is it cranking? has your inertia switch tripped out?
jacobs53 0 Posted April 30, 2006 is the engine not even turning over? lee
Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted April 30, 2006 Sounds like the startermotor is not connected.
Ant 2 Posted April 30, 2006 When i tested the wires, pin 27 on the ecu went to pin 3 on the relay, which is definetly getting 12v from switched live ? The only wires ive connected to the 205 loom are fuel pump and switched live. The starter on the 605 goes to the black relay ( pin4 i think, but cant remember ) Do i need to link the starter to the 205 starter connection ( brown plug ) ? i know the starter works. i turned it over with 12v today... but i et nothing when i turn it over. the fuel pump clicks and that relay is buzzing away.any ideas cheers
Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted May 1, 2006 Do i need to link the starter to the 205 starter connection ( brown plug ) ? Yes! and connected directly..not through any relais etc.
jackherer 543 Posted May 2, 2006 I've got a 2.0 turbo engine (still in a xantia, for now) that I've owned for over a year and for all that time I've used '1111' as the code. The other day it stopped working, it would just beep four times to indicate the wrong code so I began to see myself needing a new ecu which was very annoying. At this point I looked through the paperwork that came with the car and found a card with a completely different number on it so I tried this and it worked! The only explanation I can now come up with is that '1111' had been set as a 'valet' (temporary) code and it expired or the ecu was reset or something so it would then only start with the master code. Must have been something more serious than removing the battery though or I would have had this problem sooner than I did. Anyway, my point is you may not be entering the main code which would explain why it beeps four times (which means wrong code). My one seems to lock me out for rapidly increasing lengths of time if I get the code wrong btw.
Ant 2 Posted May 2, 2006 It was the starter Wired it up and Wroooooom... no exhaust = bloody loud engine Done a few tests though.. .Jacobs is bob on.. You can totally bypass the keypad with a switched live to pin 3.. Nice and secure there peugeot.. !!!! 1 wire and the immob is useless lol Anyway, its sorted. Cheers folks for that Gonna start a new topic with the wiring stuff i found out.. Might be useful to someone THANKS again !!!!!
jacobs53 0 Posted May 2, 2006 its quite simple really.. if you think about it.... Once the correct code is entered into the keypad, the keypad provides a 12 volt feed to pin 27. All this crap about the code being installed inside the ecu is horse crap!!!! think as the keypad as a latch switch circuit, and then its becomes quite obvesious that all you need to do is provide pin 27 (on the 605 loom) with a switched 12 volt supply. Exactly the same for the key and transponder boxes aswell.... If the code or signal was installed inside the ecu surely you wouldn't need the transponder box! :s yeap once again a latch switch circuit inside there. So do away with the transponder box, and key and just find out which pins (on the ecu) the transponder box refers to and supply a 12volt switched feed. Hopefully this should avolid confusion in the future. lee
inferno 1 Posted May 3, 2006 ive recently found an original pug diagram for the 405 with keypads, it includes a page purely on the immobiliser, ill help out where i can but would rather not publicly display the diagrams on here for legel reasons. i bypassed my keypad under the bonnet putting a switched live the 7pin multiplug on 2 wires... trevor_stiles 0 Posted May 18, 2006 Hi mate glad to hear you got it up and running at last. you can come and sort mine out for me if you want Dont you just hate wiring i need some more info as to wether what im doing is correct or not??? Is this info below correct? Taken from ant?? 205 brown multiplugs: wire no 52 = Reverse light 53 = Reverse light 47 = Coolant light 47a = Coolant meter 7a = Alternator 30 = Oil pressure meter 30a = Oil temp Meter 30b = Oil Pressure Meter 46b = Starter Motor 76 = Fuel pump M = Earth 112b = RPM 74a = K Light 2a = Switched Positive I have work off a loom converted by jacobs53 (lee) and found out that the 205 brown plugs go to: 52 = pin 1 of gearbox sensor (not necaserily needded) 53 = pin 2 of gearbox sensor (not necaserily needded) 47 = pin 1 + pin 2 of brown coolant sesnor 47a = pin 2 of blue coolant sensor 7a = alternator 30 = not needed? 30a = pin 1 of blue sump sensor 30b = not needed? 46b = starter motor 76 = ??? on jacobs wiring loom goes to a red wire into a purple relay of some sort? M = earth 112b = nothing 74a = nothing 2a = pin 3 of the xantia brown 15 pin multiplug relay Im stuck with wires number 46b (starter motor) as i cannot find a wire number 46b on the 205 brown plugs. Wire number 76 (fuel pump) i think goes to pin 9 on the xantia brown multiplug but im not sure??? Wire number 74a (k light) i have no idea wether i need or not? Looking at previous posts am i right in saying that if i put a switched live to pin 27 of the ecu and pin 3 of the xantia brown multiplug relay that i wont need the immobiliser wiring or keypad? Ant 2 Posted May 19, 2006 Trev, the starter motor wire isnt on the multiplugs ( xantia / 605 end ) ... Its a seperate single wire ( thick and yellow ) thats got a grey connector on it.. Might even still be on your engine ? ? ? I think one of your wires was cut off on your 205 plug.. I think from the notes i made it was the starter, as this threw me slightly ( hence my post about the starter ) ... Check that... Worse case, ill nip up and have a look.. The plug info i gave you also differs if you remember depending on your 205 loom..ie there are two different looms ( ie we found out both of yours are different to each other ) so double check the wiring numbers. Dont forget you also need to wire up the speed sensor module i mentioned Hope this helps Ant
trevor_stiles 0 Posted May 19, 2006 i can get the car turning over but not correctly. when i turn the ingition on to the first click its ok when it goes to the second click it turns itself over even though im not trying to start it, something to do with the switched live?(if you get me?) Any chance you can come and have a look mate???
Mandic 0 Posted May 19, 2006 In case the code doesn't work, can one take a chip from the ecu one knows the code, lets say from 1.9TD ecu, and puts it inside, will it work? are the chips and coding the same through XU series? Thanks Ziga
