Engine Mounting Cannot Remove - Help

Recommended Posts

TonyGTI

I am changing the engine mountings to heavy duty ones but have come to try and remove the drivers side upper engine mounting that attaches to the inner wing and having removed the alloy engine bracket I cannot see how to get the rubber/metal mounting undone. Is it attached to a captive nut underneath? If so do I have to try and turn the mouning by the use of a hammer and chisel??!!

Yes, it's a captive nut underneath and you hammer/chisel the old mount around using those sticky-up bits... makes sense when your there. If it's anything like mine that I did last week then it won't move for a while then it will finally start moving round, so just keep at it!
