Guest tom Posted April 27, 2006 Hi all, Can anyone recommend a cd player with a good anti-skip?The drive to work is not smooth and the skipping is driving me insane! I dont use an amp or a cd changer, no big speakers or anything like that, i imagine something with 4x40W or 50W will do. Oh and preferably a way of wiring up the stalk controls ('97 Clio) Any suggestions? Thanks! Tom
Jonmurgie 2 Posted April 27, 2006 Pretty much anything new/recent will be good at not skipping... also sticking with a main brand, and I'd highly recommend anything Alpine

Dream Weaver 2 Posted April 27, 2006 I have a H&B CA-5555 - CD drive but also comes with a slot for an SD card, so I have a 1gb SD card with about 20 albums on - not possible to skip with that Cost me £78 from eBuyer - I haven't wired it in yet, but reviews of the unit have been good up to now, the quality feels good as well. http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/102955/rb/18585243489
Paintguy 0 Posted April 28, 2006 As another option, can you add a changer to your current headunit? They generally have much better internal suspension, so are less prone to skipping. Place it towards the centre of the car (e.g. under the front seat) for best results.

notamondayfan 44 Posted April 28, 2006 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Alpine-Car-Stereo-Ra...1QQcmdZViewItem i have the model before this i believe. great player, and u can place the cd player / changer any where u like. i keep mine in the boot, but you could put it anywhere. if you have really stiff suspension, y not sit the player on a bed of sponge? collateral 0 Posted May 3, 2006 I'm running my iPod into my crappy Sony head with an adapter from a company called Connects2. Check out their site, iirc they do stalk adaptors too.
