anyone around here knows the wiring conversion from a 1.9 gti to an mi 16 ???

there are loads of people on here who know how to do it. most will try telling you to do a search though. You need to find out which loom you have. If it is mainly green wires it is the BX loom, and requires splicing into the existing loom (this is the one mine has)

If it is not mainly green wires it is the 405 one and will require you to make a small link loom so it just plugs straight in. These are covered in many posts but you will need to get somebody to explain the bx loom for you or try searching

thanks any more info welcome especially on the small link mentioned that has to be done, i am going to fit this onto a 309 GTI but i suppose all wiring is the same as on the 205

The wire numbers are different between the 205 and 309GTI. However theyre in the same places (assuming its a P2 309).

ok..... bloody electrics !, yes it is a phase 2 309

 

another thing i also need to know is are the engine mounts on the 309 off a 1.9 gti and an mi the same, i think you would be able to help d-9........

 

practically what i am trying to do is getting as much info as i can and combining my knowledge to cut down the costs and fit this in myself.

The engine mounts are the same, no modifications need to be done to the shell or any of the mounts, thou its a good idea to get a stiffer lower mount. You need the topmount arm that comes with the mi16 as the 8v one doesnt fit.
