jonD6B 0 Posted April 25, 2006 Why do polycarbonate window kits get manfactured in 4mm? Is this due to rally regs. or as a safety issue? I've just made a set of windows for a Nissan 200 sx out of 4mm but was contemplating making my 205 ones out of 3mm to save a further 25% of the weight of the material. Good idea or bad idea? smckeown 1 Posted April 25, 2006 yeah i believe race regulations. The other thing to consider is you might not get a water tight fit with less.
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted April 25, 2006 Using Lexan is a better idea, It's allot more robust but as always costs a little bit more, As with every thing you pay for what you get. But they are the Reg's at the moment, But with the way they are changing at the moment who knows.
