Why Use Silver Bulbs

anyone know why the second driving light in the phase two rear cluster has a silver coating??

Usually cause it's knackered or faulty... put a new bulb in :D

no jon this is definitly out of the factory, and the two bulbs on either side are working fine.

some aftermarket bulbs do come with a silver covering, if you browse round a motorfactors you'll probably find one. I dont think it actually makes a particular difference though, its just a thing that a company have added to it to try and get people to buy theirs over others.

noraml ones are in, they are obviously slightly brighter but makes no real difference :)

anyone else got 100w bulbs in? ideal for rural lanes (it's a missprint officer!)
