mbayley77 0 Posted April 23, 2006 As title really, What clutch would be recommended for a 306 gti-6 engine coupled to a be3 1.6 box. The car will be running carbs and cams when it goes in with a lightened flywheel. And the car will only be used on stage rallying tarmac. Ant plate - cover - bearing info greatly appreciated. Jonmurgie 2 Posted April 23, 2006 A standard replacement clutch will be fine... assuming your using the GTi6 flywheel then you need a GTi6 clutch
mbayley77 0 Posted April 23, 2006 wow how quick was that. Excellent cheap then Dont think that there is any difference between the gti 6 flywheel and the mi16 is there? Can use either so looking for the better of the two but cant see any difference on them.
Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted April 23, 2006 GTi6 clutch is pull type!!...so I would use an Mi16 clutch which is push type and will fit the flywheel without probs. No need to modify the gearbox as well (whereas with the GTi6 clutch you would have to convert the gearbox to pull type). btw: GTi6 and MI flywheel are the same! Dixon 1 Posted April 23, 2006 Yeah as said above, you'll need an mi16 clutch (i've just done exactly the same). Can pick up a Valeo one up from gsf for not too much money. (£70 ish from what I remember)
jochem 0 Posted April 24, 2006 I can only confirm hilgert and dixon; mi16 clutch is working fine on my setup.
