Can any one please tel me how to tune my Afm with Co Screw, and the 2 bolts on the upper side of the throttle body?

i mean should i tune it on cold engine?

how many rounds need to do if all bolts are at close mode?

after 1.9 conversion i still waiting for 1.9AFm to arrive from ebay..meanwhile using 1.6AFM and cant get ride off gray fuel smelly exahust.. thats cause engine isnt tunned.

p.s

i really wouldnt drive the car if its a 1.9 and still using all the 1.6 bits, youll more than likely damage the engine after time. If your fiddling with the AFM you need a Co machine, a 5mm allen key adjusts it, clockwise richens, antioclockwise leans it off. The screw on the throttle body adjusts the idle mixture whereas the afm adjusts the fueling over the whole of the rev range.

Providing that you're using complete 1.6 setup - ie injectors, AFM and ECU - then it should work fine on a standardish 1.9 engine. This is how the early 1.9 conversions were often done prior to the "proper" 1.9 GTi models being released.

Don't run a mixture of 1.9 and 1.6 fuelling parts though, as then you'll really mess up the fuelling. So when you get that 1.9 AFM, use a 1.9 ECU and 1.9 injectors too.

Screw on the throttle body is for idle speed (and the other small one is the throttle stop), and the allen screw on the AFM is for the idle mixture - as said, you'll really need to get the car on the gas analyser to get the mixture spot on, although you can get it pretty close by ear if you know what you're listening for.

ok , yes i wouldnt wont to use 1.9 setup before i have the AFM1.9.

so i use all the 1.6 set up on that 1.9 engine.

i know the screws. and thier jobs. :P

but i really cant get the tunning right, i can get to "almost" tune it

but still the gray smoke with the fuel mixture sense is out..

maybe its this ECU temp sensor that causes it to overfuel?

just for be sure. where is the location of that sensor? near the SAD?on the head?

thx

water temp sensor will make a differance to fueling if faulty/not conected or bad conection. it is located on back of engine near SAD. (should be a blue conecter if i remember corectly)

hope that helps? i would wait untill you have a full 1.9 set-up untill you start bothering to set up.
