How To Make Cti Rear Harnesses

Recommended Posts

Henry Yorke

Not sure if this will apply to many, but those with CTI's, nagging other halves and young kids may appreciate this!

Quite simple to make at under a tenner for a pair via B&Q and I have put a quick guide up here:

Basically bolt a bar onto your rear beam mounts and run adjustable loops of webbing round that to make the harness.

Excuse my ignorance, but I'm guessing the CTi only comes with lap straps as standard then?

Get some harness pads on 'em, you know you want to

I saw one which had had proper retro fitted three point seat belts...I can try to find the chaps details if you want.

From what I recall, the reel of seatbelt was sited on top of the parcel shelf, (but fixed to metal obviously!)

Thanks Henry for the info

I've been thinking about the same thing as my two youngest children are six & three,

I've just finished reshaping the gti metal rear seat backs that were in the car so they fit properly and safely, and this looks like my next job!

great idea, thanks, adaptable to a dog harness too! My springer's not really daft, but drop the roof and he still sticks his head out the window!!

Wow! I thought this would be the deadest topic on here!!

Andy, harness pads were the first thing I thought about!! I found some 40mm webbing (also at B&Q) but couldn't get it in black and it would have looked garish in yellow!

I have tested some heavy braking with aforementioned child in the back and she didn't hit the seat so all good!!! I just have to provide some lateral support not for those high G corners!!!

They keep saying "Faster Faster" to me so what is a dad supposed to do?!
