jonD6B 0 Posted April 22, 2006 Is there any way of telling whether the beam is set at standard height or whether it has been lowered whilst the beam is off the car, such as a measurement between two points or an area to visually check for post factory work? Does the ride height alteration need to be done off the car?
Guest smokinslim Posted April 22, 2006 Measure from centre to centre between the top and bottom shock mounting bolts. Not sure of the exact measurement off the top of my head but there are some in the haynes manual. Also if you search recent beam topics you should find some, been mentioned a few times over the past month or so.
jonD6B 0 Posted April 22, 2006 Found a topic which gave me an idea, thanks. Does the beam have to come back off the car all together to alter the height? This I couldn't find.
Guest smokinslim Posted April 22, 2006 Not in theory. I think that's more down to how much of an arse it's being and how much abuse you want to give it really. I haven't actually tried it yet but have changed the beam twice now, and ended up with yet another possibly dodgy one. Means i will be very soon so i'm learning as much as possible first. No, you can adjust the beam ride height with only having to remove the wheels & shocks & maybe rear arb depending on how you choose to do it. Graham.
