Another Lower Strut Brace Question

Recommended Posts

SamGTi

Right, I officially have the suspension bug an want to get my GTi handling better and better all the time. My current setup is as follows:

Koni adjustables (front)

Avo adjustables (rear)

Grp N top mounts

Grp N engine mounts

Lowered 25mm

Sparco top strut brace

So I would like to know whether or not a lower strut brace will make a noticable difference to my car along with the above setup? I know there are loads of posts about lower braces but I am reluctant to spend the money on one before I get a definite answer as the car already handles like a dream as it it. Will a lower brace make it even better or will I hardly notice it? I would of thought the upper brace would suffice (I maybe wrong).

The car is for general road driving by the way (not tracks) although it's not my daily driver so comfort is low on list of priorities!

Sorry, it' okay. Just done a second search and found what I am looking for. Seems there is only one person on here that actually rates them through personal experience (Jonmurgie). The rest are neither here nor there!

Did you find the large topic where the debate got heated? Miles is another one that recommends them and he's got a lot of 205/peugeot experience.

What I find amazing is that people worry about whether it makes a difference or not when it's only ~£30 to find out for youself. As you say I personally rate mine and in my eyes it makes perfect sense... with your current spec it's essential in my view so just get on and give it a go :)

dont forget jon and miles would have experience of track/race cars predominantly in the dry, not a road car that could spend significant time in the wet. But hey, fit it and see, we'd like to have more feedback :)

Yeah that's the one I found. Was rather funny! Like you say, they're only £30 so I may just buy one and see how it is. Cheers!
