Anyone Help?

Recommended Posts

Guest h3ppy

wondering if anyone can help? i am currently driving a 106 xsi.

it is a 1992 1.4 (i know it isnt a 205 but it is just until i get one!!) and i have a very minor problem that is really annoying!! the metal bar and pin that hold the brake pads into the

caliper on the driver side have went awol!! the other day there was a

scratchin noise when i braked and on inspection noticed that these bits where

missing and the brake pad had come out the caliper and made a nice scratch right round

my alloy.

the problem being that i cant for the life off me find another one off these bits to replace it!!

i have tried every garage and they cant get it!!! i phoned peugeot and they said i would have to take the car to them, which i obviously cant as it is a bit dangerous to drive!!

so if any one can help or has any advice it would be very much appreciated!!

cheers

Your best bet for getting hold of bits like that individually is probably going to a scrap yard or breakers mate.

Most places tend to sell brake parts (besides pads, shoes, n discs) in kits.

if this is the same arrangement as the 1.9 205 rear callipers, i'm sure you can get a kit containing the bar, pin and springs

the brand name 'apex' comes to mind

think i got mine from a high st car parts place
