jonD6B 0 Posted April 20, 2006 I have just found, whilst searching through mounds of history for my car, a power graph taken afew years back from Skip Brown Cars. The car is a 1.9 GTI and peak power was 117bhp @ 6000rpm in 3rd gear with a K+N induction filter and a Scorpion full system. The two questions I have are; Does anyone have any idea whether the SBC rollers are particually accurate and do SBC still have a rolling road in Tarporley? PumaRacing 2 Posted April 20, 2006 Are you sure that wasn't a wheel bhp figure rather than a flywheel one? SBC's rollers read massively high. You can usually figure that their wheel bhp number will be not far off everyone else's flywheel one.

I would have assumed that it was a flywheel figure as it seems about right given the guidelines on your website but the only information I have is the accumulative power and torque figures against the rpm. The engine seems very strong now but obviously I am unaware of how well/badly tuned the engine was when this figure was taken. You have answered my question anyway in that SBC rollers aren't accurate. Cheers.

I was contemplating taking the car back to SBC now I've set the engine up properly and I know it's running well to see what the comparison would be after an extra 40K miles on it. (A rough estimation). I am eager to have it RR'd to calculate it's power to weight ratio. Aside from aiming to take it to a group RR session there is a company 15 mins. down the road that do hub-dyno runs and tune over 6 runs but they charge £110 +vat and I can't decide whether it's worth the extra cost over a standard RR tune. Any opinions?
