Guide To Removing Front Arb

Recommended Posts

Jonmurgie

Having swapped my front ARB to a 21mm 309 one at the weekend I thought I'd take some pics and write up a little guide on how I did it (also good for how to change the ARB Bushes):

I'll be emailing it to Cybernck soon to be added to the main site :)

No idea what the 309 ARB is going to be like yet as I'm ECU-less until the weekend when out at Combe ;)

Great guide there mate. One quick question, it looks like you've got the powerflex ARB bushes, how'd you fit those, as i've heard they don't fit properly?

I can't remember what mine look like, as they've been sat in the garage for ages, but i don't remember there being a slit in them to be able to put them over the bar, so did you cut them to create a split?

I didn't actually fit those, but if there is no split just cut one... the clamp will squeeze the bush back together anyhow :)

Looks good, but in the wet would it make understeer worse? as all the BTCC cars in the wet have the fonrt ARB dissconnected?

Well this is what I'm going to find out... if it's wet I will undo the drop links and tie the ARB out of the way, but in the dry I'm hoping it will reduce some front end roll :)

Well at the time of fitting the Powerflex stuff they were free, so in my books that's cheaper than Peugeot prices :P Having said that, I would guess that the Peugeot bushes are probably better than the Powerflex ones...

1 of the 309 anti-roll bar bushes is no longer available from Pug (unless onstock @ your local dealer)

Yep, it's the near-side one with the groove cut into it. My local (John Pease) managed to source one from another dealer.
