fulani 4 Posted April 17, 2006 Right. As usual I've lost my torx screwdriver set, so can't check in the car until I go out and buy some more. At which point I might as well get the speakers. So, Phase 1.5 1.9 GTI - front speakers are: 10cm (4") or 13cm (5ish")? Please help!
fulani 4 Posted April 18, 2006 How sure are you? Maybe I should have set a poll for this. Or I could buy another set of Torx screwdrivers... I'm so confused!
buchanan84 1 Posted April 18, 2006 the speakers I bought last year for the front doors were 13cm my car is a 1.6 phase 1.5 so should be the same

GLPoomobile 958 Posted April 18, 2006 I'll bet my left gonad that they are all 13cm. My old Astra had 10cm speakers and Pug ones are much bigger.
fulani 4 Posted April 18, 2006 OK, I believe you now. *traipses back to Halfords...

Paintguy 0 Posted April 18, 2006 As everyone says, 13cm (5¼" ) Here's a picture of my 4" midrange fitted in the standard location, you can see it's smaller than the original mountings.
d-9 0 Posted April 18, 2006 why did you decide to fit smaller speakers? mine are 13cm too btw.
Paintguy 0 Posted April 18, 2006 why did you decide to fit smaller speakers? They're just the midrange drivers out of a 3-way set. The 6½" midbass are going in the bottom of the doors It's only a quick and dirty solution for now, until I have chance to build some proper door pods, or take the bull by the horns and get the mids into the kickwells! fulani 4 Posted April 18, 2006 (edited) Cheers guys, got a great deal on some Alpines, came with separate tweeters and much better handling than the 10cm ones. Found the Torx screwdrivers and everything's ready to go. Many thanks. Edit: Post #205! Edited April 18, 2006 by fulani
