lordvader 0 Posted April 17, 2006 Hey all. My 205 has been experienceing intermittent electrical issues for quite some time. They don't stop the car from going, but they can be annoying at times. I was hoping you lot might be able to diagnose the symptoms ? Left brake light works "sometimes" The horn works "sometimes" When I'm braking and indicating, my radio might stop for a few moments The car has a "new" battery, which I was told was not a very high quality one, could that be an issue ? Anthony 1,003 Posted April 18, 2006 Dodgy earths and corroded connectors would be my suspicion - clean them up and the problems usually go away...
lordvader 0 Posted April 18, 2006 Where are the earth points ? The only ones I've come across are on the suspension mounts.
jonD6B 0 Posted April 18, 2006 There is a main earthing point to the left of the N/S headlight that's worth checking, it is (iirc) certainly where the earth for the horn is taken from.
Alex G 0 Posted April 18, 2006 very likely earth or bad connection related earth point by rear left cluster and front lights. check those is also worth checking your fuses are in securely and not corroded
