High Torque Motor

At present my 1.9L GTi is totally stock.

I am going to fit stand alone ecu and hopefully solve the reliablity problems by removing the AFR, SAD, Dizzy and coil. which should also free up some airflow problems and power. :D

I have seen some posts on using a 2.0L head on the original block to give more torque and is a easy conversion.

Is this true and what are the details please, what head do I use (part number), timing belt, any changes to the lower half stc..

I have tried to find some posts on this subject, but cannot find them and I am sure they are out there.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Ok found some relevent posts.

From what I gathered, for a straight swap of the heads it should prove the better head after skimming it to get the CR back to normal, but put off by the poor Cylind head gasket fit. Also not sure if 205 intake/exhaust manifolds will fit this head either.

How much are you asking for your head?

I have an 2L head on my 1.9 aswell.

Drives verry nice. Before mounting it, first make an compression calculation. I needed to remove 2 mm from my head to get an 1: 10 compression.
