Interesting Find...

The exhaust had been blowing on the car for a few weeks now, and I pretty much had it sussed as the manifold/turbo manifold gaskets. but after whipping the engine out this morning theres a huge crack running down the exhaust side of the turbo  That would explain the horrible sound and lack in poke.

Can I just swap the exhaust housing from my old XU10JTE lump? Anything worth replacing while I'm at it?

Thanks

IIRC the thing with the turbo on an XU10j2TE is that the exhaust flange is built into the turbo housing and it is a weak spot on them, hence why it was designed as one cast piece and cost over £1000 new. Ig you can swop the internals into a spare housing then that will save a lot of money, however I am not sure whether this sould be rebalanced to save it shaking itself apart.

Oil seals where applicable would be a sensible thing to change too, however I am not sure how servicable the T25 is in this format.

Nice non-cracked exhaust housing :)

Will be getting all the relevant new gaskets tommorow, aswell as doing the cambelt/water pump while its out.

funny to see some previous owner used sealant between the turbo and manifold.
