Guest BrainFluid Posted April 14, 2006 I is the problem that you want to know what starter to put in your Xu diesel? If so I can only reccomend going to the scrapyard and taking one off a 205 diesel. Failing a 205 diesel being about look under the bonnet of all the psa cars and the odd rover and one of them will have the same engines starter motor that your looking for. Anthony 1,003 Posted April 14, 2006 Any 1.8/1.9 XUD diesel engine starter will suffice - the scrapyards should be full of them from Peugeot 205/306/309/405/406 models (and the equivilent Citroen's BX/ZX/Xantia). The solenoid wiring connections are slightly different between different models, but that's easy enough to sort out with a crimp if you hack a short length of the wiring out along with the starter. Alternatively, you could always bump/tow start the car to get it home and then sort the starter out later... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
