les3002 0 Posted April 14, 2006 what boost level will the standard tt setup cut the ignition?
saveloy 8 Posted April 14, 2006 The boost switch(in the underside of the inlet)will cut in at approximately 1.2 bar (17.5 psi).
les3002 0 Posted April 15, 2006 hmm mine seems to be cutting in, ill have to get the boost gauge setup on it and find out whats happening, it was setup on 10psi so something must be going wrong. is the boost switch just a simple pressure switch, eg just completes the circuit at 1.2 or break the circuit? saveloy 8 Posted April 16, 2006 At 1.2 bar it will cut the ignition....violently!
les3002 0 Posted April 17, 2006 it did with lots of banging and flames lol, sounded like i had anti-lag. anyway turned out i had messed the actuator pipes up, i dont use the boost solinoid so have the small boost pipe from the full boost outlet straight to the actuator, but i had put it on the lower boost outlet. saveloy 8 Posted April 19, 2006 I bet that was shockingly quick for a short period. I had a situation many moons ago, whereby a pipe was collapsing and the engine was over boosting. My brother was driving at the time. His head almost ripped through the headrest, until the ignition cut out and the car attempted to spit him through the windscreen!
