puginfo 0 Posted April 15, 2006 >>> notice that on the head side the flat section (squish area) appears on the inlet side whilst on the bottom end, atop the pistons, the squish area is on the exhaust side. i do not see how this could be good match, any reasons for this? Guest rick03054 Posted April 15, 2006 They're not. They're both on the exhaust side. Note the position of the spark plug.
puginfo 0 Posted April 18, 2006 >>> what i meant was, the flat sides of the pistons and the combustion chamber does not match. the flat side of the combustion chamber appears on the inlet side (opposite of the plug) but the flat side on the piston crown is on the exhaust side. why is that? jack biscuit 0 Posted April 18, 2006 (edited) i'm sure i'm missing the point here but.. pistons wrong way around? I wet my pants the first time i opened up an XU just a few weeks ago and i made a classic newbie post, which way around should my pistons be.. Being a little ignorant, i assumed 'dist' on the crown meant distributor side.. in my lump it's flat to flat chief.. have a look.. Guest rick03054 Posted April 18, 2006 But the flat side of the combustion chamber is on the exhaust side too. The spark plug is on the inlet side.
