Seat Bolt Problem

Recommended Posts

PhilCTI

I'm just putting the front seats back into the car and one of the two bolt holes nearest the front edge of the seat

doesn't have any thread for the bolt to go into, the bolt just drops right down the hole.

Can someone advise what should be there and if I can get to it to repair please, or any clever fixes,

many thanks,

Phil.

Sounds like the threads have rusted or worn out

A good fix would be to get a nylock nut/washer and bolt it together

Can you get to the underneath side of the hole? seems to be a space between the hole and the actual underneath of the car?

I'm not sure if it's different on the CTi but in the GTi there are rectangle holes in the cross members and a kind of captive nut thing clips into the whole... they can often rust up and twist/drop out over time... I gues you should be able to get them from Peugeot or a breakers maybe?
