Quick Wishbone Bush Question

im assuming that when i remove the old bushes i take the hole thing out right to shell of the wishbone? ie to the metal frame?

 

ordered a couple new ones but will take a 1 day or 2 to get them, mite aswell take these out while im bored

omg when u guys said it was hard to get these out i didnt think it would be THAT hard. Thats me just got them out, 2 hours lol for 2

yeah, it isn't easy and there are a few ways of doing it... best way if you have the means is to BURN the fecker out, then the metal bit drops out and your done :D

I did some recently and burnt them out with a blow torch, as everyone suggests. Lots of foul smelling smoke and used a cold chisel on the metal insert, right PITA. Then for the second one I used some M10 studding and selected suitable sized sockets, to act as a puller, liberal amouts of WD40 and just wound them out, very straight forward. Then just wound the new ones back in :D

it wasnt complicated, just bloomin annoying!

yea i burned the thing with a blow torch and cut away the metal sheath

ive got a press so putting them back in should be a tad easier

I tried burning standard rubber ones out with a blow torch and found it no good. After at least an hour I'd made no progress as the rubber doesn't burn, just goes crumbly and flakes off in little bits very gradually. Poly ones are much easier as the melt nicely, but leave a terrible mess.
