mbayley77 0 Posted April 10, 2006 I have been tearing my hair out looking for any sort of info to allow me to connect my dizzy ignition system onto my xu10j4RS engine. All the info I can find talks about some unknown adaptor plate???? Any other info on this? I want to run my carbs on this engine so thought the dizzy system would be the easiest route. Or any suggestions about using a 306 gti unlocked ECU with the carbs would be useful as a possible alternative. There must be people here or known somewhere with this style conversion. I know people are gonna say try the search but I have and even though this question has been asked before i cant find any black and white answers. Miles 331 1 Cars Posted April 10, 2006 I;ve seen this a couple of times as the inlet cam uses a drive for the vacume pump. But the ECU can handle carb's you'll just need a remap which isn;t worth it as you may as well buy a Ignition only ECU Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
mbayley77 0 Posted April 11, 2006 Its the exhaust cam but yeah it drives the vacuum pump which i believe needs to be removed so the dizzy can be mounted on with some adaption. Come on people there must be a few of you at least with this already done. Any pictures, emails, anything just to get this project moving. This is the only thing I dont know what to do on this conversion and its driving me insane as no matter what searches I try I cant get any info on it. have tried the 306 forums as well.
