adrian_gti 0 Posted April 9, 2006 (edited) hey guys, i've decided to get a catch tank to clean up the engine bay a little. Ive tried a search but couldnt find the info I needed. What size inlet should the catch tank have to connect to my pipe? I cant measure the pipe at the moment as i replaced it with a pipercross filter... i seem to remember it being around the 15mm mark but if someone could confirm that would be cool. cheers Adrian. rescue dude 0 Posted April 10, 2006 The oil inlet pipe into the sump is 28mm. Is that the one you mean? I had to get a combined catch tank/breather tank when i fitted carbs. Got a mate to weld a 28mm spigot on the bottom so i can put oil into the engine.
tom_m 0 Posted April 10, 2006 most seem to come in either around 9mm and around 15mm, the larger supposedly being for forced induction. the larger pipe off the filler cap (is that the one you mean?) is about a 17mm OD, I had to soften 16mm hose in boiling water to get it over it.
