matty_gti 20 Posted April 7, 2006 hi, just asking where the oil breather hose goes from the rocker cover. does it connect to a seperate bit on the block at the bottom or, the oil 'filler' hose that comes of the block?. And if i wanted to fit an 'oil breather' becasue i have got a K&N fitted, where should i fit it to to let it breathe more???. Cheers.
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted April 8, 2006 hi, just asking where the oil breather hose goes from the rocker cover. does it connect to a seperate bit on the block at the bottom or, the oil 'filler' hose that comes of the block?.The hose from the rocker cover goes to the side of the main oil fill hose, the one from the spigot next to this on the block goes to the back of the filler neck iirc. See picture here And if i wanted to fit an 'oil breather' becasue i have got a K&N fitted, where should i fit it to to let it breathe more???.Unless you fitted carbs I wouldn't bother. Graham. matty_gti 20 Posted April 9, 2006 ok cheers, so it goes 'next to' the oil filler pipe, it doesnt 'connect to'?.
geoffmslater 0 Posted April 9, 2006 Yes matty, it connects to the bottom of the filler pipe, i have done it to many times, in fact my filler pipe is now a mandrel bent stainless steel one where i had to make an outlet for this breather pipe
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted April 9, 2006 ok cheers, so it goes 'next to' the oil filler pipe, it doesnt 'connect to'?.No it connects to it, the filler hose has a pipe comes off the side of it just before it fits onto the block, this pipe runs up to the rocker cover. Have a look at the picture I've linked to in my first reply & it shows the breather pipe routing. Graham.
