Guest cips007 Posted April 7, 2006 Hi, Im getting really worried bout my pug as my oil pressure has always sat just below the 3rd mark on the guage,but over the last week or so it seems to be getting lower and lower and is now nearing the 2nd mark...! Is there any possible causes for this or am i looking at a serious/expensive engine rebuild or replacement engine? Chris Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
ashlee205gti 1 Posted April 7, 2006 Try an oil change. Might be worth checking guage, wiring and sensors aswell before you fear the worse. Changing the big end bearings can be done with the engine in situ simply by removing the sump and the oil pump, might be a bit of a ballache but it's far easier then removing the crankshaft if the engine does decide to spin a bearing. Guest cips007 Posted April 10, 2006 I've had oil/filter changed and initially pressure did go up to just below 3rd but has settled back to where it was between 2nd and 3rd mark at about 4500 revs.Would this suggest a pressure problem i have or switch/wiring?
