Do Gti's Have A Brace Between Outer & Inner Wings?

I am replacing the front wings on my GTI. When I took the front bumper off there was no mountings between the bumper and the bottom of the outer wing. Also there is no bracing between the bumper mounting point and the inner wing. I have seen these bracings on non-GTI 205's - should they be there on my car?

 

Can I use the bumper mountings / bracings off an XS as there is one in the scrappy near me at the moment.

i know you have said that non gti-s have them so they may not be rellivant but mine has one now because the other rusted off.

 

not too sure if they make alot of diffrence tbh. but someone correct me if im wrong

all the 205 models have them as far as im aware, probably for extra surport incase of an accident-not that they would do much good! lol
