Low Oil Pressure - When It's Not

Recommended Posts

TT205

My gauge shows very low oil pressure yet when tested with an oil filter mounted gauge the pressure is fine - replaced the sensor and still reads low gets worse when engine is warm and - yes there is plenty of oil

Any ideas

Try cleaning up the connections in the "Infamous Brown Multi-Plug"... solved my oil pressure problems anyway! :D

check the connector on the sensor is nice and clean and check the wire goes on it nice and tight.

i had this problem last week, oil pressure was good at idle and low revs but when revs went above 3000rpm the pressure shot straight to the red, no warning light on.

so cleaned up sensor connection and crimped the connection onto the sensor abit tighter as seemed abit loose.

brown multiplug should be around the gearbox, thermostat area.

Well amazing as it may sound, the fault with mine was the camshaft!!!

No3 lobe has become No3 'round' as in it's fecked - we got as far as a power run on the RR, it had lost 70BHP and was detonating like fek!

I'll let you know what happens to oil pressure when I have a new cam in

Anyone care to hazard a guess as to how a fekked cam screws oil pressure?

Cheers

Dave
