Immobiliser Fitting

Recommended Posts

Guest woll

Hi,

I've bought a cheap-ass immobiliser off ebay for £13.50 inc P&P!! Basically I wanted the certificate....(I know someone who can stamp it). Anyway, thought I may as well fit it and I don't see that it would be very difficult although not sure which wires to attach them too or how to use the loops?!?!

Anyway, here are the basic (and I mean basic) instructions that came with it:

You have 3 wires and 4 loops on the wiring harness. You also have a plug and socket. Wiring is labelled apart from one wire, this is your earth. Wire 1 is a permanent live feed. Wire 2 is an ignition controlled feed. The two sets of loops make up the cut circuits labelled A and B.

There you go!!

Basically I assume that the loops should be cut and connected to a wire in the car's loom but don't understand why there are two loops labelled A and two loops labelled B. And does both the permanent live and the ignition live need to be connected or can it just be one.

Not sure if anyone will be able to help me with this but thought i'd ask. Just shout if you need more info from me.

Thanks

Oli

Or just angle the socket on the AFM downwards and take the plug off slightly when you leave the car.

Also the fuel pump fuse is a good one.

You've just got to remember exactly what you did

2 Loops will probably mean 2 circuits can be done. Ie fuel pump and coil etc.

They should normally be joined in to the live feed to that circuit. As if ur trying to extend the wire. So cut a wire, join 1 bit of loop A to each end.

How does the thing arm / disarm ? Im guessing ull need both lives to work it properly. Aslong as u remember exactly what u do, u cant do any real harm. As u can simply undo anything.

And what do u want the cert for ? Most insurance companies only recognise Thatcham approved stuff.

Good luck
