JayCC 0 Posted April 2, 2006 I'm having major steering issues with my car recently. Especially on the motorway. When driving 70+, the car does not like turning with the shape of the lane. If im going round a slight bend, i turn a little and nothing happens, so i turn abit more then in suddenly twitches and turns all at once! The steering feels so slight when driving fastish. V V hairy in the rain today. It does not pull to either side under breaking. I had two new front suspension arms fitted 9 months ago, and have fitted a uper strut brace (3 months ago) and has a full front set of hard rubber mounts. Front tyres are Eagle F1's with even wear(aout 6 months old) and rears are dunlops (even wear lenty of tread but been on 2+ years) Refurb rear beam fitted 3 months ago. Any ideas? cheers

hengti 2 Posted April 2, 2006 could well be tracking - feels horrible even if it's a little out try taking it to one of those places who offer a free check/adjust after you've paid for the inital tracking adjust that way you can have them adjust again after you've changed the rack (or whatever else) if the first tracking adjust doesn't fix it

Or was it a local establishment?
hengti 2 Posted April 2, 2006 (edited) alot of these high st places do it - kwik fit etc - try ringing round and asking a few after they've charged you £20ish to adjust it*, some places will offer to look at it again in a couple of weeks time hopefully they won't remember that your steering rack wasn't that shiny last time ... worth a go anyway cheers Pikey *has anyone else noticed that the cost of tracking seems to have gone up in recent years?!
