Guest BrainFluid

My neighbors friends just got a problem with a 306 xnd . They cant switch there immobiliser off and they need to get there kids home. could you help? do you know anything about this? sorry to bother you all but I cant figure it out! It hasnt got a keypad and the normal steps are not turning it off, then when it turns off automaticaly when you try to start the car the immobiliser and alarm kicks in again!

Sounds like it has an aftermarket alarm on it. Might be worth posting the model number up. Alternatively if it is the standard 306 alarm, then I think there is a key switch behind the passengers headlight that will disable the system

Try holding the button in on the right hand side of the steering column. Turn the key to position 2 and hold the button for about 10 sec. IIRC. Unless they have the key for the master switch.

Tried that. Same problem.

FORGOT to mention that she left the lights on for a hour by accident before this happened could a drained battery be causing this problem?

only things i can suggest is that the keypad has an auto lockout if the wrong code goes in 3 times. wait 1 minute and try again.

or try changing the code to something else.

old code then 'c'

new code then 'c'

four green flashes and a beep.

if the alarm is involved and the car has remote central locking and a sunroof, then the rcdl sensor might need checked.

i think this is up next to the courtesy lamp/ sunroof controls.

if the sunroof leaks in, it drowns and shorts out.

just noticed the flat battery thing. the factory code may be 0000 or 0001

Nice one!

Gave the car a good long jumping...

Then the car started without the alarm going off and the car being immobilised.

Thanks very much from the stranded family.

Nate.
